Indications

Cough and expectoration in influenza or upper respiratory infection due to wind-heat; measles; rubella; sore throat; mumps; erysipelas, carbuncles and sores

Research Findings

  • Compound Fructus Arctii Mixture (consisted of Fructus Arctii and ethanol extract of Radix Astragalus membranaceus) has the effects of reducing urinary protein in 24 hrs, lowering urinary albumin, improving blood glucose after meal and lipid metabolism.[2]

Cautions

Promotes defecation. It is contraindicated in qi deficiency with diarrhea
